Inverted is looking to onboard an exceptional engineer who has worked for more than 12+ years on designing engineering products, systems, processes, and methodologies.


Li-ion batteries need deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineering to deal with challenges like Heat Transfer, Battery Modelling, Current Path optimization, Vibration, Stress, Enclosure Design, Homologation, etc. Inverted is looking for a passionate engineer who has taken products from conceptualization to delivery stages, who is an extraordinary talent and an amazing leader, who is structured in approach and also innovative in thought process.



Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.


Mechanical Design & Development:

  • Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and equipment used in lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Ensure that all mechanical designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
  • Drive innovation in mechanical design to improve battery performance, reliability, and manufacturability.


Manufacturing Operations:

  • Manage the installation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical equipment and systems in the production facility.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all mechanical operations comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Project Management:

  • Oversee mechanical engineering projects, including new equipment installations, facility expansions, and process upgrades.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of mechanical components and equipment.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement in mechanical engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the mechanical engineering team.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems in lithium-ion battery production or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale mechanical engineering projects and manufacturing operations.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in mechanical design, including CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and equipment used in lithium-ion battery production.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for lithium-ion battery manufacturing.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing engineering team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
