Position Summary:

The Director of Product Design will lead and oversee the product design team to ensure the delivery of innovative, user-centered solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires a balance of creative leadership, strategic thinking, and operational excellence to drive the design vision and elevate the overall user experience across all digital products.


Key Responsibilities:


1) Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
  • Provide guidance and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Establish design best practices and processes to optimize team performance.

2) Strategic Design Direction:

  • Define and communicate the design vision and strategy in alignment with company goals.
  • Partner with stakeholders to integrate design into the product development process.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the organization.

3) Product Design Execution:

  • Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Ensure consistency, scalability, and accessibility in design deliverables.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to create seamless user experiences.

4) Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Present design concepts and strategies to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with business and technical teams to advocate for design priorities.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring user needs are prioritized.

5) Operational Excellence:

  • Manage the design team’s resources, budget, and project timelines.
  • Establish and maintain a robust design system to ensure consistency across products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies.


Qualifications:


1) Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful digital products at scale.

2) Skills:

  • Expertise in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and design systems.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

3) Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field (or equivalent experience).
