Role: Business Finance ControllerCompany: Lucas TVS LimitedLocation: Padi, ChennaiExperience: 15-20 years (Manufacturing industry)Job Type: Full-timeWork Mode: Work from OfficeReports To: Chief Financial OfficerJob Description: Business Finance ControllerRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Business Finance Controller with 15+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls, including Ind-AS (Indian Accounting Standards).- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.2. Strategic Planning- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.- Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial plans and business strategies.- Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure proposals with clear ROI analysis.3. Cost Control- Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour, and overheads.- Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across plants and functions.- Conduct variance analysis (budget vs actual) and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.4. Reporting & Analysis- Prepare and present periodic financial reports, MIS, and dashboards to the executive team and board of directors.- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.5. Team Leadership- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.- Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance function and with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, sales, etc.).6. Compliance & Audit- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and statutory requirements.- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of audit points.- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records and documentation.Skills & Qualifications- Education: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional 15+ years of overall experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing industry finance.- Strong background in plant finance, costing, budgeting, and business partnering.Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of Ind-AS, taxation, and corporate finance.- Hands-on experience in ERP/financial systems (e.g., SAP / Oracle / similar).- Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and MIS reporting.Soft Skills:- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.- Proven leadership ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.Work Location:Base Location: Padi, ChennaiWork Mode: Work from Office (ref:iimjobs.com)
