Role: Sr Analyst/ Associate (Economist)- Carbon markets and Environmental commodities
Job Location - Okhla is looking for an Economist who is passionate about Sustainability and Carbon Markets and looking for meaningful as well as cutting-edge work.
The candidate would be part of the cCarbon team (pronounced 'see-carbon'), a division of cKinetics, which provides business intelligence and analytics in carbon and environmental markets.
The person would be involved in analyzing the carbon and offset markets as well as clean fuels markets across the globe. (See more on www.cKinetics.com and www.cCarbon.info)
Position deliverables:
The role envisages the following activities:
o Research and analyze economic issues pertaining to carbon markets. Analyze a variety of data streams using mathematical models and statistical techniques
o Supporting delivery of reports and analysis. Publishing relevant forecast, commentaries and reports synthesizing the key news and developments
o Engage with proponents in North America and Europe to keep track of fast-evolving market developments with regulators, industry bodies, clients, etc.
o Responsible for updating existing financial/ econometric models and developing new relevant models pertaining to Carbon allowances, offsets, etc.
o Support and actively participate in product development and management
About you:
o You are looking to take on responsibility and be part of a dynamic environment
o You have a methodical and critical mindset for collecting and analysing market data
o Strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact and collaborate with professionals from varied cultural backgrounds
You must have:
o Post-graduation in economics with 5+ years of work experience and strong modeling skills
o Experience in climate policy, energy markets and/or environmental commodity markets
o Excellent English writing skills and the ability to articulate analytical thought in an easily comprehensible manner
o Demonstrated knowledge and use of standard analytical software such Microsoft excel, R, or SPSS. Expertise in python is a big plus.
o Ability to work 'hands-on' and multi-task in an energetic environment
