JD Edwards Development Manager (ver. 9.2)


Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced JD Edwards (JDE) Development Manager to lead our development team in enhancing and supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne version 9.2. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, overseeing the development and implementation of solutions within the Supply Chain and Finance modules. The ideal candidate will guide a team of developers, work closely with business stakeholders, and drive the development and customization of JDE applications, orchestrations, and reports. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to manage both strategic and hands-on development work are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of JDE developers. Provide guidance on best practices, code quality, and ensure team alignment with business objectives.
  • Project Management & Coordination: Manage development projects within JD Edwards, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, quality, and adherence to project goals.
  • Development & Customization: Oversee and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of custom applications, reports, and orchestrations in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne version 9.2, using JDE tools like Form Design Aid (FDA), Report Design Aid (RDA), and Orchestrator.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify user stories, and provide technical guidance within the Supply Chain and Finance domains.
  • Technical Oversight & Issue Resolution: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex data-related issues, overseeing the identification and resolution of data inconsistencies and performance bottlenecks across JDE applications.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Implement quality assurance standards, review code, and ensure the team adheres to best practices for unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Process Optimization & System Integrity: Guide the development team in optimizing JDE processes, minimizing impact on future upgrades, and ensuring system integrity and performance across modules.
  • Training & User Guidance: Ensure that team members and end-users are trained on JDE functionalities and process changes. Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as a JD Edwards Developer, with at least 2 years in a lead or management role, specifically in EnterpriseOne version 9.2.
  • Strong hands-on experience in JDE development tools, including Form Design Aid (FDA), Report Design Aid (RDA), Table Design Aid (TDA), Named Event Rules (NER), Business Functions (BSFN), and Orchestrator.
  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain and Finance modules, including Procurement, Sales Order Management, Inventory, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor development teams, with experience in performance management, project prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, allocate resources, and track team progress.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in JDE programming, SQL, and deep knowledge of JD Edwards data structures, file configurations, and debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques and best practices within JD Edwards applications.
  • Knowledge of development best practices, code standards, and strategies to ensure minimal impact on future JDE upgrades.
  • Functional Skills:
  • Proficient in translating functional requirements into technical solutions, with a strong ability to bridge technical and functional perspectives.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in Supply Chain and Finance processes, with an ability to provide effective guidance to users.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain-focused organization.
  • Familiarity with integration tools, analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI), and ERP-related reporting tools.
  • Certifications in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development or related ERP systems.
