About the function:

MakeMyTrip’s internal agency crafts communication for CLM, display and other channels, catering to diverse set of customers. In this function, we are looking for a dynamic writer who can create effective copy for all briefs.


About the role:

In the ever-evolving and customer-centric e-commerce and fintech industry, content plays a vital role in the acquisition & retention of customers, in turn aiding in accelerating business growth. As a content writer, you will be in the middle of action, working with many teams and for diverse lines of businesses, drafting effective daily communication for multiple platforms and also crafting shareable content pieces, all of this on tight timelines. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills for seamless coordination with team members and stakeholders. You should be passionate about writing accurate, persuasive, and creative content that inspires the customer to pack his/her bags and travel


What will you be doing:

  • Responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content for brand MakeMyTrip keeping in mind the sensibilities of UAE and the Middle East.
  • Responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content for MakeMyTrip’s Forex arm.
  • Responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content for Tourism Board promotions across channels with a focus on relaying their own message through brand MakeMyTrip.
  • Independently bring the approved content strategy to life via concept, content, copy on CLM, display, funnel and other platforms.
  • Liaison with teams/partners to ensure that content is complete, exhaustive and accurate across all company platforms, and fits the brief.
  • Work closely with the design/art team and the brand team on all creative and branding initiatives to ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of intent, style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video and print.


Qualification & experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in copywriting/content writing.
  • Good to have exposure in the fintech industry as well.
  • Post-grad in English or mass communication, from a reputed institute.


Key success factors for the role:

  • Demonstrate creative and copywriting skills on-brand following the sensibilities of UAE and the Middle East.
  • Have a very strong command of written and spoken English.
  • A versatile writer who can write short copy and long copy with equal perfection.
  • A sharp editor who can improve the quality of copy without sacrificing the tone of voice of the writer, within the brand tonality.
  • Understand the market/competition, and our business with its tonality, to thereby create effective on-brand content.
  • Improve the performance of existing metrics that track content efficacy.
  • Able to perform well under tight deadlines, coordinate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders, and have a sharp eye for error.
