Support Engineer

Hasura is hiring Support Engineers who can help our customers/community be productive with Hasura, and achieve their desired objectives by helping resolve their queries/issues related to Hasura features and usage patterns.


You will work with our users across different product categories (Open Source, Cloud, and Enterprise) to address questions in a ticketing system, and Github discussion forum to provide responsive and quality support. Internally, you will act as the voice of the user within the company, and liaise with the product and documentation teams to surface necessary changes.

Responsibilities :

  • Use your expertise in Hasura and backend development knowledge to answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and provide deep technical solutions to our users over email/ticketing systems, Github, and Discord.
  • Coordinate with the support operations team to meet internal/external support SLAs.
  • Work with the Product team to improve overall Product UX for a better developer experience.
  • Work with the Documentation team to ensure our docs address common questions and use cases.
  • A lot of fun problem-solving and building side projects with Hasura.
Requirements :
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Very good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Prior experience in a technical support role, solving cases using a ticketing system.
  • Solid understanding of the modern web application stack.
  • Strong interest in working in a high-growth, fast-paced, and dynamic startup environment.
  • Genuine empathy for solving real-world customer problems and building happy and successful customer relationships.
  • Ability to work US Eastern time hours. May be required to take part in a rotation schedule for PagerDuty.
Strong experience in the following technologies :
  • Databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle), REST APIs.
  • Linux, the terminal, and other command-line tools.
  • Containerization (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Scripting languages (Python, Shell, or Rust).
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Nice to have :
  • Familiarity with GraphQL.
  • APM solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic or Dynatrace).
  • Prior experience in a developer tools company.
  • Experience with a backend language/framework like Java/Spring boot, Javascript/Node. JS.
  • Backend or Fullstack engineering experience.
  • CI/CD technologies (Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or Terraform).
