Job Title: R&C Production Engineer Corporate Title: Vice President Location: Pune, India Role Description We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Lead to support the Rates & Credit and broader Fixed Income Currencies businesses. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our real-time trading platforms. You will apply SRE principles to proactively manage system health, drive operational excellence, and collaborate closely with senior traders, developers, and cross-functional teams to optimize front-to-back workflows. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for maintaining platform availability, resolving complex issues, and championing automation and observability initiatives. Your ability to lead a team, communicate effectively across business and technology stakeholders, and operate under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment will be critical to success. Lead root cause analysis and conduct blameless post-mortems. Monitoring & Automation: Enhance application health monitoring and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience, with a key focus on start of day health checks. Disaster Recovery: Participate in Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Plan exercises (may include some Out of Hours activities) Collaboration: Partner with development teams to design and deploy fault-tolerant, scalable solutions aligned with business goals. Governance & Compliance: Enforce and adhere to change, incident, and problem management policies, as well as bank specific non-financial risk frameworks. Mentorship & Role Modelling: Support the growth of junior team members and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. Engagement in wider Technology & Bank-wide initiatives such as Engineering Days, Hackathons, Volunteering, Lunch and Learns, Employee Resource Group events, etc. Your skills and experience A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 15yrs+ proven industry experience in a Production Support, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps role within a Trading or Financial Services Environment. Familiarity with Agile software development concepts and wider processes within the Software Development Life Cycle i.e. Change, Incident, Problem Management. Strong technical skills in Linux/Unix systems, SQL, shell scripting, and programming languages such as Python, Java, etc. Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, OpenTelemetry). Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines. Have a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and fundamental trading systems. Knowledge of Fixed Income and related products such as Rates, Credit and Repo.
