Job Description for Head of Design / General Manager

Global Experiences:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in mechanical/ Aeronautical engineering around 20+ years of experience
• Must have overall Technical knowledge on different Airbus / Aero OEM programs
• Must have knowledge on both metallic and composites design.
• Must have sound knowledge on Fuselage, Wing, Empennage, Control Surfaces etc., on structures
• Must be knowledgeable on Airbus Methods and applicable procedures for respective application
• Knowledge on Aerospace Stress activities.
• Knowledge on various ATA chapters.
• Knowledge on Technical measures at each stage with Metrics
• Experienced on Aerospace related Tools (softwares/PDMs etc.,)
• Knowledge on Product Design, Plant Engineering, Repair Activities, Tool Design, Mfg. Engineering, Manufacturing, MROs, Aerospace Systems ES, MSI etc.,
• Should be capable on Detailed technical write ups and Efforts estimations for technical proposals

DOA and Technical Expectations:

• Should have a clear understanding on Design Regulatory requirements for aero domain
• (Technical signatory approvers, Airworthiness, CVE etc., as per EASA / Airbus A1020 / FAA / CAA / DGCA / CEMILAC).
• Knowledge on FAR 21 G, FAR 21 J and other Supplementary Type Certifications and its Requirements
• Necessary to go through and understand the DOA requirements under project specification / TDS.
• Responsible for ensuring signatory delegation process (SDP) as per A1020 / M1020 requirements.
• Accountable to review the WPL recommendation / requests on DOA scope.
• Accountable to review independently the nominee's necessary qualification before proposing them to HOE
• Accountable to ensure the deliverables of the signatories meeting the design requirements.
• Accountable for independent technical reviews and to ensure the applicable compliances
• Accountable to identify and provide required trainings and close monitoring of the effectiveness during mentoring phase.
• Accountable to review monthly data of all the nominees & signatories as per audit / compliances requirements through logbooks, to take appropriate actions on Non-Quality, Non-conformance and KPI deviations as per A1020 / M1020 requirements and report to HOE during internal meetings, Internal and External Audits
• Accountable to review safety occurrences reported from the projects and recommend for final review by HOE
• Co-ordinate with QA Department on process compliances / requirements.
• Co-ordinate with WPLs to improvement on Quality metrics.
• Co-ordinate with PMO to collect Logbooks to maintain nominees / Signatories data trackers.
• Maintaining the list of nominees and signatories through CTPS record.
• Responsible to support HOE at every stage in ensuring the design organization requirements during technical audits, Technical proposals preparation, Developing technical skills on new areas etc., etc.,
• Should be pro-active on Technical Initiatives (like CI, Digital initiatives etc.,) & best Practices
