Job Description: Manager – Data Management


iQuanti – The data management team at iQuanti is seeking a Manager to lead our BI and data management discipline and drive quality deliverables across clients using an AI-first approach.

As our Client Services business grows, we will have more data from multiple data providers and clients across various projects. We need a leader who understands how to manage and deliver data management solutions that unlock the value of our data, visualization, and insights. Our data is extensive and continues to grow rapidly. We need someone who can contribute to the manager role by designing, developing, and managing data and report development across multiple client projects on our existing tech stack. This role involves building cutting-edge systems and reports with faster performance and working with our Data Engineering team to implement the next generation of data systems.

Key duties:

Data Management and BI


Act as the face to the client, playing the role of SME, understanding overall business needs, architecting solutions, and communicating with clients about implementation plans.

Participate in business requirements and design review sessions, working directly with product owners, UX leads, and data engineers to develop Microsoft Power BI reports.

Interact with the Data Engineering team to design, create, and tune physical database objects (tables, views, indexes) on the existing AWS data lake and cloud-based data warehouse.

Leverage AI and automation to bring efficiency to the team.

Monitor and supervise the team's work to ensure effective implementation of projects, perform necessary tests and governance, and achieve all client objectives.

Provide the client business context to the solution teams and help drive the solution development to positively impact client goals.


Establish processes and drive development

  • Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for the team.
  • Understand end-to-end features and help the QA team construct automated/manual test strategies using industry best practices.
  • Build and govern strategic plans for detailed execution, keeping overall project goals, quality, execution margin, and client expectations in mind.
  • Manage communication with the client, account management, and delivery/solution teams regularly to ensure the health of the relationship and project goal progress.

Build, Hire, and Lead BI Engineering Team

  • Build, hire, and manage the team.
  • Assess and manage team performance through meetings, one-to-ones, and quarterly assessments.
  • Build and execute training and skill plans for each team member.


Skill Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of enterprise application systems and database portfolios, including development technologies, application design strategies, access methods, naming standards, performance tuning, and integration strategies necessary to maintain information integrity, security, and physical storage requirements.
  • Strong expertise in reporting packages such as Tableau, Google Data Studio (GDS), and Power BI, as well as databases like SQL, and programming languages/frameworks such as XML, JavaScript, and ETL frameworks.
  • Understanding of how data structure/design affects network performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, estimate, and execute releases with a high degree of predictability.
  • Experience with additional data visualization/analysis tools like Tableau and Oracle BI.
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Knowledge of cloud systems such as AWS and Azure.
  • Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to mentor and promote skill development among team members.
