Sr. Data ScientistDepartment : Information TechnologyLocation - Baner, PuneShift Timings - 9 : 30AM-6 : 30 AM (Mon-Fri)Overview : We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in developing machine learning and deep learning models, with a strong focus on text analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP).The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end ownership - from understanding requirements to designing, developing, and delivering scalable AI solutions. You'll work on cutting-edge projects involving NLP, text analytics, and text generation, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the innovation culture at ChiStats.Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.- Design and implement innovative machine learning and deep learning solutions, particularly in NLP and text analytics.- Build, train, and validate models for text analytics, NLP, and text generation tasks.- Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling.- Evaluate model performance and conduct experiments for optimization and fine-tuning.- Communicate findings, insights, and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.- Stay current with advancements in machine learning, NLP, and GenAI technologies.- Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.Required Skill Set : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.- Proven expertise in text analytics, NLP, machine learning, and deep learning.- Proficient in Python and associated libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, NLTK, spaCy).- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.- Experience using Hugging Face Transformers for training, fine-tuning, and validation.- Strong understanding and practical experience with models like BERT, T5, BART, or FLAN-T5.- Experience in hyperparameter tuning and model optimization in at least one real-world project.Good-to-Have Skill Set : - In-depth understanding of transformer architectures and advanced NLP techniques.- Experience working with generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, GPT).- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or related GenAI development frameworks.- Experience designing RAG pipelines and multi-agentic AI solutions.- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for model deployment.Why Join ChiStats?- Be part of a research-driven AI company recognized for innovation.- Opportunity to work on defence, energy, and industrial-scale AI applications.- Collaborate with a team that values curiosity, learning, and real-world impact.At ChiStats, we believe our people are our greatest strength.
