We’re also expanding into new storytelling formats like comics and web novels, all built on the foundation of our proprietary AI platforms.You can get more updates, insights and everything behind the scenes at Pocket FM here - https://xtra.pocketfm.com/About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead indirect tax operations and strategy across key jurisdictions, with a strong focus on India (GST) and the United States (Sales & Use Tax).This role will drive compliance, support tax automation, lead audit defense, and partner with cross-functional teams on new product launches, system upgrades, and global expansions. We are looking for someone who will have deep technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commercial mindset to balance compliance with business enablement.What will you do ?India (GST)- Manage end-to-end GST compliance, including return filings (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C), input-output reconciliation, and e-invoicing. - Handle indirect tax litigation, notices, and audits, coordinating with external consultants as needed. - Lead indirect tax due diligence for India operations, including vendor setup, contracts, and intercompany transactions.United States (Sales & Use Tax / DST)- Oversee multi-state sales/use tax compliance, including nexus evaluation, taxability mapping, and return filings. - Evaluate impact of marketplace facilitator laws, economic nexus rules, and digital services taxes. - Drive automation of US indirect tax processes, certificate management, and audit trail retention.Global / Strategic- Support VAT/GST registration and compliance in other jurisdictions (EU, APAC) as the business scales. - Evaluate indirect tax risks and exposures in new markets or product launches. - Lead tax technology initiatives in collaboration with IT and finance transformation teams.What we are looking for- CA / CPA / LLM / Master's in Taxation or equivalent professional qualification. - 8–10 years of experience in indirect tax, with significant exposure to India GST and US sales/use tax. - Experience managing indirect tax audits, assessments, and regulatory communication. - Prior experience with tax engines (Avalara, Vertex), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and automation tools. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across finance, legal, and operations.
