Investor Relations Head – Startup Singam (Chennai)
About Startup Singam
Startup Singam is India's first televised startup reality platform (Star Vijay TV + Jio Hotstar) connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem partners. Season 2 is set to feature 75 curated startups, 200+ Cr investment opportunities, and 30+ top-tier investors.
We are now looking for a Head of Investor Relations to anchor our engagement with investors, drive both on-screen and off-screen deal closures, and build long-term investor relationships through the Startup Singam platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Investor Onboarding: Identify, reach out, and sign up angel investors, VCs, family offices, and HNIs to participate in Startup Singam.
- Online Investments: Facilitate investments happening through the show during televised episodes and on-air jury commitments.
- Offline Investments: Drive and track investments happening off the show but enabled by Startup Singam introductions, networking, and the platform's credibility.
- Deal Structuring & Closures: Work closely with investors and startups to negotiate terms and stitch together successful funding deals.
- Fundraising Support: Enable co-investments, syndicates, and strategic participation across different stages.
- Team Leadership: Lead a small team of Investor Relations Specialists to scale outreach and deal execution.
- Relationship Management: Build deep trust with investors, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term engagement.
- Strategic Inputs: Collaborate with the leadership team to refine investor participation policies and fundraising frameworks.
- Representation: Be the face of Startup Singam in investor forums, roadshows, and ecosystem events.
Desired Profile
- Location: Chennai (mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in angel investing, venture capital, private equity, or investment banking.
- Track Record: Demonstrated ability to close deals, raise funds, and manage investor relationships.
- Preferred: Prior Investment Banking (IB) experience.
- Skills: Strong network in the startup & investment ecosystem, expertise in deal structuring, leadership ability, negotiation, and relationship-building.
