Job Title : DBA – SQL Server and PostgreSQL

Exp : 5 to 9yrs

Technical Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Deep understanding of database concepts, including relational database design, normalization, and indexing.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and scripting languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/pgSQL).
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools (e.g., SQL Server Profiler, pg_stat_statements).
  • Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Experience with database replication, clustering, and high availability configurations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or PostgreSQL Certification are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL database systems.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of database systems through proactive monitoring and optimization.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Design and implement database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and data masking.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimization and index tuning.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  • Conduct regular patching and upgrades of database software to ensure security and stability.
  • Create and maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other stakeholders on database-related issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in database administration and advocate for their adoption when applicable.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance tasks.
