  • Installation, upgradation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
  • Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need

  • Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
  • Failover clustering, Always-on, and other high availability technologies
  • Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring (I/O bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU use)
  • Manage Maintenance Plans & Design database backup and restore strategy
  • Monitor backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
  • From time to time recover the databases to a specific point of time, as per the requests
  • Secures database by developing policies, procedures, and controls
  • Expertise in database administration and maintenance, monitoring performance of databases and ensure it is operating at optimum level
  • Azure SQL database concept of IaaS and PaaS
  • Monitoring Azure backups and maintenance plans
  • Access management on the Azure PaaS environments
  • Understanding of ticketing (SNOW) and Monitoring tool (SQL Monitor)
  • DB migration & upgrade from on-prem to Azure.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Microsoft Azure DB (IaaS & PaaS) experience
  • SSIS / SSAS / SSRS experience
  • Data Warehousing experience

Experience in writing/editing TSQL query tuning on high transaction systems.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field; or equivalent work experience.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
  • Certifications on Azure (AZ-300 & AZ-104)
