Designation: Production Manager

Job Location: Rabale


Responsibilities

TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Accountable for all resources entrusted, inclusive of human resources and planning its development.

Maintain harmonious employee relations.

Guide and approve corrective actions taken by Shift Supervisor for defects and rejection.

Motivate the team for superior performance.


PRODUCTION & MONITORING:

Prepare section production plan based on overall plan prepared by the plant head/ production Head.

Plan the resources and ensure optimum utilization of the same on a regular basis.

Attend to problems in the plant section related to quality and quality of output.

Troubleshoot, without loss in the planned output whenever the lower-level executives/ workers are not able to fix the problem.

Ensure implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures within section.

Ensure maintenance of quality specifications in the section.

Ensure good upkeep of the equipment’s and installed machines and up to documentation, regarding the same.

Represent the section in all the production meetings.

Explore means for cost reduction, wastage reductant ion and submit notes to the higher-ups for approval and implementation.

Facilitate implementation of the new projects in the designated area.

Prepare required MIS for the section and ensure maintenance of all required production records.

Ensure good house-keeping in the shop floor area.

Monitor down time, break down, material shortage, tool and equipment problems on hourly basis.

Facilitate implementation as per approved plan.

Ensure safety norms and safe work practices are adhered to.

Monthly MIS to be submitted to the Director Production


INTERDEPARTMENTAL LINKAGES:Co-ordinate with Procurement & Store department whenever there is a problem with the input raw material quality.

Co-ordinate with the packaging in charge to ensuring chargend correct packing of the finished product.

Update Dispatch department / Warehousing In charge on the job completion status at the shopfloor.

Co-ordinate with quality departments whenever quality problem arises or new product variants are introduced, or changes to the raw material mix.

Co-ordinate with the slitting supervisor for timely slitting and sorting of the labels.

Co-ordinate with the prepress department whenever there is a problem with plates quality or at the time of correction in job.


Accountability:

  • Ensure adherence to established operational procedures and quality standards to meet or exceed production goals
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining inventory levels within the assigned section/function
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any issues affecting product quality
  • Accountable for achieving and surpassing productivity and efficiency targets set for the area of responsibility
  • Foster a positive work culture, provide guidance, and facilitate training and development opportunities for team members


Authority:

  • Empowered to initiate, champion, and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the assigned section/function
  • Authorized to coordinate with cross-functional teams to address inter-departmental challenges and ensure smooth operations
  • Empowered to enforce safety protocols, conduct training, and implement safety measures within the designated area
  • Authorized to identify and resolve challenges or bottlenecks within the production process
