IIIT Hyderabad Invites Applications for the Position of Senior Manager-Facilities

The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad is a world-class institution ranked No. 6 in India offering BTech, MS by Research, Dual Degree (BTech + MS), MTech, and PhD programs. The institute has large research centers with 578 scholars working on wide-ranging topics.

IIITH, set up by prominent Indian academicians is neither funded by any Government nor by any specific industry/family, it is a truly public institute. Prof. Jhunjhunwala is the current chairman of its BoG and Prof. Raj Reddy from CMU was the Chairman for the first 25 years.

Overall Responsibility:

The position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institute. The primary role is to create a healthy and safe work environment for all stakeholders of the Institute.

Essential Competencies:

Education & Experience:

- An Engineering graduate with a PG Diploma or Masters in Facilities Management or General Management from a premier institute or an institute of national importance.

- Have demonstrated knowledge of best practices in facilities management in an academic institution.

- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Facilities Management of which 5 years would have been at a senior level managing a team and heading facilities management of an academic institution of repute.

- Excellent communication and listening skills,

- Ability to work with different stakeholders internally and externally.

- Excellent at working with a diverse set of people.

Job Senior Manager-Facilities Management is responsible for:

- Ensure safety and security.

- Create a comfortable work environment.

- Increase sustainability and energy efficiency.

- Determine a long-term approach to workplace optimization.

- Keep disease prevention and infection control a priority.

- Manage and maintain the physical infrastructure of the Institute.

- Manage the budget and resources allocated to facility operations.

- Implement sustainability initiatives within the workplace.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the Institute's future needs, evaluate potential facility options, and provide insights on the feasibility and impact of different decisions. This involves analyzing space requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and making recommendations for facility improvements or expansions.

- Responsible for housekeeping, electrical work, plumbing, AC, telecom, maintenance, and landscaping.

- Works with outsourced agencies to ensure respective services are executed most effectively.

- Ensures SLAs are followed.

- Maintains campus as per set standards.

- Ensure all the equipment, furniture, and facilities across the Institute including hostels and guest flats are well maintained.

- Support the civil/electrical team for any documentation works, coordinate for executing agreements, work orders, etc.

- Allocation of residential quarters to faculty and staff. Assist them in getting gas connections and other facilities to ensure their settling down is smooth.

- Coordination with government departments and external agencies for unskilled workers, material, electricity/sewage departments, etc. for the smooth functioning of all facilities at Campus.

Type of Role: Regular position with an initial contract of 3 years to be renewed based on performance and the Institute's needs.

Pay: The compensation is designed to reward the best talent and will not be a limiting factor for the right person. Starts at around CPC Level 10.
