Who we are searching for:The GBM Datawarehouse team is in need of a passionate, skilled, and driven individual to join us as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SDET). As an SDET, your main task will be testing software in a fast-paced environment. We seek a candidate who can grasp new technologies swiftly, adapt to changing business needs, and integrate seamlessly into our team.Responsibilities as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer:
  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts, developers, and other SQA team members using Agile techniques to identify and refine functional/regression test cases according to business requirements and solution approaches.
  • Recognize business test scenarios during iteration preplanning. Work closely with analysts and PO to define test scope from both functional and business viewpoints.
  • Develop testing-related documentation, such as test plans, test cases/scripts, and bug reports to evaluate quality and associated risks.
  • Create defects promptly and monitor them using internal tools and processes like RTC and JIRA.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, report key issues, story status, and any obstacles.
  • Engage in team demos and showcase completed stories with relevant data and test materials.
  • Maintain Regression testing suite based on Release criteria.
  • Prepare release checkpoints for upcoming releases and seek necessary stakeholder approvals.
  • Lead test automation efforts to enhance regression coverage and streamline checks.
  • Execute automated tests daily to identify any new issues.
  • Regularly follow up to ensure defects are either resolved or deferred.
  • Actively participate in Joint Integration Testing (JIT), end-to-end testing, and defect resolutions by collaborating with upstream and downstream teams.
  • Assist in BUAT testing and cross-functional bug triage.
  • Analyze feedback from business users on developed modules and discuss potential action items with analysts and PO.
  • Suggest and emphasize improvement areas during team retrospective meetings.
Essential Skills for Success in this Position:
  • Data Modeling.
  • Understanding of Datawarehousing principles (OLAP vs OLTP).
  • Proficiency in SQL queries, joins, and views.
  • Experience with S3 Data Lake and Presto.
  • Knowledge of Core Java, Junit Testing, and TestNG framework.
  • Familiarity with Github or an equivalent version control system.
  • Understanding of any SWIFT, Payment, and Cash systems is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Openness to acquiring new business processes and knowledge.
  • Ability to think from a holistic product perspective and understand the overall impact rather than just a specific part of the product.
Education and Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in professional software testing involving test planning, test case design, test automation, and methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Database testing and Java.
