Technical Consultant / Shared Technical Services (TC / STS)

As a Technical Consultant, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers and project teams in implementing Concur's travel and expense management SaaS applications. STS is a part of SAP Concur's global services group.

The main responsibilities of the Technical Consultant include installing, configuring, integrating, and testing SAP Concur software for client implementations. This role involves handling the technical setup of customer-specific environments, managing all integrations, interfaces, and technical configurations. You will collaborate closely with SAP Concur project managers, solution consultants, and sales teams, ensuring the successful completion of project milestones, system configuration, client training, integration tasks, and transitioning clients to their production environments.

This position is based at Concur's Bangalore office and requires working hours aligned to provide support to North American clients on the Standard/Professional Platform.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Offering technical expertise on integration, feeds, loads, and extracts
  • Managing the setup and scheduling of all interfaces and system jobs
  • Providing technical guidance on SSO (single sign-on)
  • Directly working on SAP Concur's database
  • Being a key technical resource on projects and assisting with system performance matters
  • Preparing the new system for configuration
  • Setting up FTP/PGP with clients for secure data exchange
  • Configuring jobs within the system (imports/extracts/credit cards, etc.)
  • Testing and troubleshooting imports, SAE file usage, and security adjustments
  • Managing purges to transition the system into a production-ready state
  • Directly handling Expense DB activities for troubleshooting and data management

To succeed in this role, you should be able to:

  • Maintain all environments throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Lead client training and knowledge transfer sessions
  • Configure various interfaces such as ERP, Employee, Credit Card, EFT
  • Resolve general technical issues, including escalations when necessary
  • Communicate best practices based on prior experiences and provide effective solutions to client challenges
  • Support clients during testing phases and offer recommendations and risk assessments
  • Handle configurations migration between test and production environments
  • Collaborate effectively with client teams and internal resources for clear communication
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables and project milestones
  • Enhance and maintain technical product knowledge
  • Contribute to project methodology and documentation enhancements
  • Update Customer Statistics and collaborate on cross-functional teams
  • Consistently report client issue status and progress to the Project Manager
  • Adhere to all corporate policies

Requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Basic MS SQL skills with experience in running DB queries and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with FTP and PGP file encryption or similar methods
  • Strong knowledge of flat files, XML files, and Excel spreadsheets
  • Understanding of data format conversion
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Previous experience with SAP Concur Travel & Expense software
  • Knowledge of SAML SSO technologies and ERP/HR systems integration
  • Basic understanding of Accounting Principles and experience with project management
  • Experience with major credit card data and banking payment gateways
  • Familiarity with business travel and travel agency data
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts with strong software and technology acumen
  • Proficient in web technology, financial system integration, and Excel
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Capable of prioritizing workload and working autonomously
  • Clearance of a background check
