Wells Fargo India and Philippines (I&P) is an integral part of the Well Fargo Enterprise and provide Operations and Technology support to the WF Enterprise Business. WFIP operates out of 4 sites across 2 countries and currently has c45,000 employee supporting all lines of business covering business operation, technology development and support.
3. Department Overview
CB Operations within I&P sits under the Wholesale Operations business vertical supporting CB/ CIB/WIM - CB Ops aims to provide a world class client experience to Commercial Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Small Business Banking clients with their lending needs across the globe (bi-lateral loans, syndicated loans, trade finance, asset-based lending, and leasing). CB Ops consists of following functional groups:Lending FulfillmentLending Servicing Commercial Real Estate and Syndicated Lending OperationsShared OperationsCollateral, Flood, and Trade OperationBusiness Management OperationsOperational Excellence.
The CB Ops Team covers all stages of client lifecycle across origination, loan onboarding, and loan servicing and involves activities like deal closing, boarding, and funding, financial statement spreading, Trade Finance, cash management, loan accounting, customer account onboarding & servicing, customer service, collateral management, loan servicing and collections.
4. Role Context
This is a senior role within I&P CB Operations management team to lead the Lending Fulfillment operations across I&P. Lending Fulfillment comprises of following processes: Lending Fulfillment Operations consists of the following business groups:Credit Spreading & Covenant ComplianceDeal ClosingBoarding and FundingCredit Solutions Deal ClosingSBO - Fulfillment FunctionsThe operations supports loan onboarding functions across the CB/CIB portfolio covering syndicated loans (Agented & Member Deals), bi-lateral loans, Asset Based Lending/Leasing operation. The Fulfillment functions have undergone significant growth over the last 18 to 24 months adding new roles across India & Philippines. The overall team size is in India is ~400 FTEs. The Lending Fulfillment teams are also based in Manila with a team size of ~180 FTEs, while the role is not expected to manage day to day delivery of teams in Manila but will still act the as the overall I&P lead for Lending Fulfillment and provide functional oversight. The incumbent in this role is expected to demonstrate significant leadership, be part of the Global Lending Fulfillment leadership team, collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency across processes, procedures & policies etc., ensure there is robust understanding of process and its complexities, team understand the business being supported, client impact and risk associated with in the process. The individual will be required to maintain strong engagement with multiple functions/stakeholders, take ownership of consistent delivery of KPI's. This will require the incumbent to remain hands on, fully understand the scope of the work and establish adequate governance and oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead a large Lending Fulfillment operations team across sites to ensure service delivery is to the required enterprise standards and control standards meets business expectations.Fully understand the lending processes across CB Ops and ensure there is adequate understanding of upstream/downstream impacts, training and knowledge building within the team to support the business.Drive and motivate the team and establish a culture of high performance, ownership, accountability, transparency, and sustained performance.Drive the team towards continuous process improvements, identifying opportunities for improving quality and accuracy, improving controls, ideas to eliminate waste and driving effective and efficient operations.Build and foster collaborative relationship with business partners and stakeholders. Ensure there is regular connect with key stakeholders to review performance, priorities and other business initiatives.Build a strong operations rhythm where meritocracy and positive behavior is rewarded, there is adequate talent management and succession planning and staff are encouraged to learn and grow.Be an active partner with the Transformation teams to ensure seamless delivery within the portfolioDevelop requisite reporting & business metrics to monitor and drive the right outcome for the business and LoB stakeholdersDemonstrate ability to challenge existing processes where they do not align with the Target Operating model and suggest solutions to bring efficiencies in the processUnderstand the cost of operations and continuously look at opportunities to drive the cost down without impacting the deliveryMaintain strong culture of control and conduct and ensure risk is managed proactively and all process have robust business resiliency which is reviewed and tested periodically along with LoB and risk partners.Skills/Experience Required:15+ years of experience with 8+ years in leading and managing operations in a global Banking / Financial Services environment, preferably supporting Commercial Banking / Wholesale Lending or Loan operations.Strong experience in managing people, developing strong performing teams and mentoring / coaching people to become leaders.Exhibits strong relationship/ negotiation orientation with senior level business partners globally.Senior level experience in or exposure to change management/ program management/ solutions at global level preferred.Ability to work in a matrix environment and managing multiple competing priorities.Excellent Communication, planning and organizing skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong stakeholder management, networking and relationship management skills.Strong client orientation and understanding of operational risk.Passion for quality and improving controls and operational performance.Ability to drive change and transformation, project management & implementation in business operations.Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areasTakes ownership and accountability for responsibilities, business outcomes, and for management of risk exposure.Location :Bangalore
