We are seeking a seasoned Head of Merchandising to drive product strategy, assortment planning, and inventory management across our India jewellery business. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of the Indian jewellery market, proven leadership, and strong digital acumen to deliver profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic & Financial Leadership: Define the merchandising vision and seasonal product strategy aligned with Angara India’s goals. Own pricing strategy to balance competitiveness and margins across categories and regions. Lead region-wise inventory planning to optimize stock turns, reduce obsolescence, and maximise sell-through.
- Omni-Channel & Digital Focus: Develop assortments that perform across retail, online, and marketplace channels, leveraging e-commerce merchandising insights and consumer behaviour data.
- Product & Production Oversight: Guide the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring feasibility with the jewellery production process—design, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality control.
- Team Leadership & Development: Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and career development for a high-performing merchandising team.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Build and manage relationships with cross functional teams, key suppliers, and channel partners. Negotiate contracts to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.
Ideal Candidate:
- 15+ years of experience in the jewellery industry, with at least 7 of the last 10 years in the Indian jewellery space.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large teams and budgets.
- Proven track record in omni-channel jewellery merchandising and strong knowledge of digital commerce.
- Demonstrated expertise in pricing strategy, region-level inventory planning, and P&L management.
- Understanding of the jewellery production process, including design, sourcing, and manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and negotiation capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
