Role Overview


The GM – Finance (Inventory & Franchisee) will be responsible for driving financial governance, efficiency, and control across GIVA’s inventory operations and franchisee business model. This leadership role will focus on ensuring financial discipline, optimizing working capital, managing franchisee profitability, and safeguarding compliance across all channels.


Key Responsibilities


Inventory Management


  • Own financial oversight of inventory, including valuation, ageing analysis, shrinkage control, and provisioning.
  • Develop and monitor reports around inventory turnover, gross margins, and working capital.
  • Implement systems to track SKU-level profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation between physical stock and books of accounts across warehouses and retail outlets.
  • Work with supply chain and merchandising teams to improve demand forecasting and reduce slow-moving inventory.


Franchisee Finance


  • Drive financial evaluation of franchisee models, including ROI, payback period, and working capital requirements.
  • Oversee franchisee onboarding, agreement structuring, and compliance with financial terms.
  • Monitor franchisee sales, margins, royalty/commission structures, and settlement reconciliations.
  • Provide financial dashboards and MIS to management and franchise partners for performance tracking.
  • Support expansion by evaluating financial viability of new franchise locations.


Financial Control & Governance


  • Establish strong internal controls for inventory accounting, cash management, and franchisee transactions.
  • Ensure GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance for both inventory and franchise operations.
  • Partner with internal audit and external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Automate reporting and integrate ERP/financial systems for real-time visibility.


Business Partnering


  • Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and retail operations teams to enable profitable growth.
  • Partner closely with franchisee operations management, Operations team and Factory teams to drive actions to conclusion
  • Provide actionable insights to management on profitability, cost savings, and process improvements.
  • Act as a financial advisor to franchise partners for scaling sustainably.


Team Management


  • Lead and mentor a finance team of 3–5 members.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop team capabilities for handling complex retail and franchise finance operations.


Tech Enablement & Process Excellence


  • Drive technology-enabled solutions for scalable and robust finance processes.
  • Leverage ERP systems, automation tools, and data analytics for efficiency and real-time decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate and upgrade processes to support GIVA’s rapid growth.


Candidate Profile


  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in retail/consumer business, with exposure to franchisee or inventory-heavy models.
  • Strong understanding of financial control, taxation, and retail operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive process automation, and enable business scale through tech solutions.
  • Proven track record of partnering with business teams and franchise operations.
  • Analytical mindset with hands-on ERP/financial system expertise (Oracle Fusion preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
