Job Description

Role – Senior Legal Officer

Job Location – South Delhi.

Timing – 10.00 am – 7.00 pm.

Working Days – Monday – Saturday.

Experience – 6 – 10 years of experience in similar role.

Salary – Upto Rs. 10 Lac PA (CTC)


Position Overview:

The Senior Legal Officer will be responsible for handling complex legal and regulatory matters pertaining to Direct and Indirect Taxes, PMLA, FEMA and other Criminal & Civil Matters including but not limited to Income Tax, GST, Customs, and allied fiscal laws. The role involves providing strategic legal opinions, managing litigation at various appellate forums, coordinating with government authorities, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations across client engagements.


Key Responsibilities:

· A. Direct Taxation (Income Tax, TDS, Appeals, Assessments):

• Draft, vet, and review submissions, replies, and appeals before Income Tax Authorities, CIT(A), ITAT, and other appellate bodies.

• Represent clients before tax authorities and assist in litigation strategy formulation.

• Handle assessments, reassessment, rectifications, and penalty proceedings under the Income Tax Act.

• Provide advisory on corporate tax planning, withholding tax (TDS/TCS), and compliance management.

• Liaise with external counsels, auditors, and statutory agencies for client representation.

· B. Indirect Taxation (GST, Customs & Excise):

• Draft replies to show cause notices, audit objections, and represent clients before GST/Customs authorities.

• Assist in GST registration, classification, input tax credit issues, refund claims, and anti-profiteering matters.

• Provide advisory on place of supply, valuation, and cross-border taxation.

• Maintain knowledge of latest amendments, circulars, and judicial precedents.

· C. Legal Drafting & Compliance:

• Draft and vet contracts, MOUs, representations, and legal opinions.

• Ensure adherence to statutory and procedural requirements under fiscal, company, and allied laws.

• Conduct internal legal reviews, risk analysis, and due diligence for transactions and regulatory submissions.

· D. Liaison & Representation:

• Support management and advisory teams in providing end-to-end legal and compliance solutions.

• Supervise junior legal officers and ensure quality control in documentation and submissions.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification: L.L.B / L.L.M from a recognized university.

• Experience: Minimum 6–10 years of post-qualification experience in taxation and legal practice.

• Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of Income Tax Act, GST Laws, Customs Act, and allied legislations.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, drafting, and communication abilities with integrity and leadership qualities.
