Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a WordPress Developer. The WordPress Developer will be responsible for back-end and front-end development, including creating and customizing WordPress themes and plugins. The day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing new features and functionalities, ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS while collaborating with other team members to develop and enhance the overall web experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
  • Customize and enhance existing WordPress websites, ensuring responsiveness and compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites.
  • Optimize websites for speed and performance using caching and other optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with the design and content teams to implement user-friendly features and functionalities.
  • Ensure website security by applying best practices and regularly updating plugins and themes.
  • Work with APIs to integrate third-party services into WordPress websites.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of development processes and changes.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in WordPress and familiarity with its core functions and architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and the ability to create custom solutions.
  • Basic understanding of responsive design principles and best practices for web performance.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize WordPress websites.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
