Job Title: Tender Estimation Engineer – Solar & BESS Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tender Estimation Engineer with expertise in both solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically compliant bids for EPC projects. This includes analyzing tender documents, estimating project costs, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for grid-tied, hybrid, and standalone renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Analysis & Bid Preparation


• Review and interpret tender documents including RFPs, RFQs, technical specifications, drawings, and commercial terms for solar PV and BESS projects.


• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, logistics, and contingency costs.


• Develop complete techno-commercial proposals in compliance with client requirements and internal standards.

Cost Estimation & Optimization


• Create detailed BOQs, pricing sheets, and breakdowns for all project components: solar panels, inverters, batteries (Li-ion, LFP), PCS, SCADA, EMS, and balance of plant (BOP).


• Source and validate vendor and subcontractor quotes for solar and storage equipment.


• Optimize costs by proposing value-engineering options, alternative configurations, or technology selections.

Design Coordination


• Collaborate with engineering teams to produce basic system designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and layout drawings during the bidding stage.


• Ensure alignment between design, scope, and cost assumptions.

Cross-Functional Coordination


• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, finance, and legal teams to gather inputs for tender submissions.


• Track and manage deliverables for multiple bids, ensuring timely submission and document accuracy.

Market & Risk Analysis


• Stay updated on market trends, technology costs, and regulatory changes related to solar and BESS.


• Identify and analyze technical and commercial risks in tenders and suggest mitigation measures.

Post-Tender Support


• Respond to technical and commercial clarifications from clients.


• Assist in contract negotiations or handover to the execution team upon award.

Requirements:


• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering discipline.


• Experience: 2–6 years of relevant experience in tendering or cost estimation for solar PV or BESS projects.


• Technical Skills:

o Solid knowledge of grid-connected solar PV systems, hybrid systems, and battery technologies (LFP, NMC, flow batteries).

o Familiarity with design and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, HOMER, AutoCAD).

o Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level), MS Project, and tender costing software.


• Soft Skills:

o Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

o Good communication and documentation skills.

o Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
