Position Summary
This role has line managerial accountability over a team of Clinical Trails Payment Analysts. Oversite and support vendors which support BMS Clinical Trials Payments across the enterprise and engage closely with clinical trial vendors across multiple service categories of clinical trial activities in R&D.
Key Responsibilities
• Clinical Trial Payment Manage is responsible for overall management of a centralized Clinical Trial Payments deliverables of global clinical trials.
• Manages performance and career development of Clinical Trail Payment Analysts
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders/partners to ensure successful delivery of deliverables. Leads or contributes to department process and continuous improvement activities/initiatives.
• Contributes to cross organizational processes and initiatives.
• Leverages interpersonal and influencing skills to foster partnerships across global and/or multidisciplinary teams.
• Manages direct reports' work assignments.
• Contributes to resource allocation decisions, considering strategy to ensure best fits for work assignment.
• Partners with direct reports to create and monitor career development plans.
• Manages performance including check-ins and year-end activities.
• Identifies individual development needs and coaches for success.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) on advanced systems including SAP, GCO Tracker/ Request Portal, Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, and Word
• Contributes to compensation decisions.
• Collaborates with Line Manager colleagues to develop and enhance department processes.
• Shares Lessons Learned relative to people management or process.
• Leads or contributes to Continuous Improvement efforts within the greater Clinical Operations or BMS organization.
• Interact with Regional Country Operation (RCO) team, CROs/vendors, Country Trial Managers (CTM)/Clinical Trial Monitor (CTMo), study team and other relevant functions within BMS and will provide oversite and support to the clinical trials payments.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Life-science or related field
• Minimum 5 years of Experience in financial or health sciences or related industries (pharmaceutical, CRO),
• Minimum 2-3 years of people management experience
• Extensive knowledge of the financial systems and payment process as it relates to the operational and financial management of clinical trials
• Competency in SAP, Ariba, Excel, Word
• Advanced knowledge of SAP including reporting functionality
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Strong interpersonal, relationship building, employee coaching and development skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and with a wide range of internal and external partners
• Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience and influence others, at multiple levels of the enterprise
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Subject Matter Expert in matters related to vendor, operational and financial governance
• Proven ability to partner effectively with colleagues and vendors across multiple functions, geographies and at all levels of the enterprise.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Supports training and onboarding of new hires as needed
• Participates in special projects as needed
