This role is a Software Engineering Senior Manager within our PBM Plus Technology Organization.

Within this role we will ask you to cultivate an empowered team of high performing engineers who are deeply passionate about building quality software products.

You will foster ongoing agile engineering transformation and continuous improvement throughout the organization, advocating for common engineering patterns, efficiency, quality, resiliency, security and performance.

The Software Engineering Senior Manager owns the output of a single work area within Engineering, working with the internally developed tools and technologies such as Java/J2EE,Spring Boot, Oracle, SQL, SOA/REST, Cloud Technologies, ITIL.

This role utilizes in-depth professional knowledge but is guided by functional practices and focuses on implementing and executing strategies within own department/discipline/team.

This role requires building strong matrix relationships with business partners, peer engineering teams, architects, infrastructure engineers, and our offshore partners.


Responsibilities:

Lead a fast moving agile team, working with the internally developed tools and technologies such as Java/J2EE,Spring Boot, Oracle, SQL, SOA/REST, Cloud Technologies, ITILSupport other product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutionsSolve problems by crafting software solutions using maintainable and modular code.

Lead daily team standup meetings where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges.

Provides thought leadership and technical expertise across the PBM technology organizationUtilize end-to-end knowledge of product ecosystem, business transactions, technology stack, dependencies, and engineering practices to ensure applications are designed and constructed using solid engineering patternsEncourage innovation and diversity of thought to solve complex business problemsPartner with business and technical product owners to optimize working relationships and clarify roles and responsibilitiesTakes accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.


Qualifications:
Required Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Strong influencing/negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
Strong time and project management skills.
Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.

Hands on experience with Java Spring Boot, GitHub, OpenShift, Kafka, MongoDB, AWS, Serverless, Lambda, OpenSearchSolid understanding of OOP, Design Patterns and Data StructuresExperience in building REST APIs / MicroservicesStrong understanding of parallel processing, concurrency and asynchronous conceptsExperience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQLProficient in working with the SAM (Serverless Application Model) framework, with a strong command of Lambda functions using Java.

Proficient in internal integration within AWS ecosystem using Lambda functions, leveraging services such as Event Bridge, S3, SQS, SNS, and others.

Experienced in internal integration within AWS using DynamoDB with Lambda functions, demonstrating the ability to architect and implement robust serverless applications.


CI/CD experience:
must have GitHub experience.

Required Experience & Education:8-10 years of professional experience including people leader experience.

Must have a Bachelor of computer engineering degreeProven experience leading/managing technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team.

Experience with vendor management in an onshore/offshore model.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Preferred:
Industry certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or Six Sigma Green Belt

Desired Experience:
Healthcare experience including Disease ManagementCoaching of team members
