Our people make all the difference in our success. This role is a Software Engineering Senior Manager within our PBM Plus Technology Organization.

Within this role we will ask you to cultivate an empowered team of high performing engineers who are deeply passionate about building quality software products.

You will foster ongoing agile engineering transformation and continuous improvement throughout the organization, advocating for common engineering patterns, efficiency, quality, resiliency, security and performance.


The Software Engineering Senior Manager owns the output of a single work area within Engineering, working with the internally developed tools and technologies including Pega, Adobe, Kahfka, integrations and testing tools such as Selenium.

This role utilizes in-depth professional knowledge but is guided by functional practices and focuses on implementing and executing strategies within own department/discipline/team.

This role requires building strong matrix relationships with business partners, peer engineering teams, architects, infrastructure engineers, and our offshore partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team mixed from two projectsPega and Medical Data onboarding. Pega team will have a developer or twobut primarily be heavy QA and QA automation. MDO team will be Abinitio developers.
  • 50% of this role will be to serve as a scrum master for two blended onshore/offshore development team of Adobe an Pega.
  • Support other product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutions
  • Solve problems by crafting software solutions using maintainable and modular code.
  • Lead daily team standup meetings where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges.
  • Provides thought leadership and technical expertise across the PBM technology organization
  • Utilize endtoend knowledge of product ecosystem, business transactions, technology stack, dependencies, and engineering practices to ensure applications are designed and constructed using solid engineering patterns
  • Encourage innovation and diversity of thought to solve complex business problems
  • Partner with business and technical product owners to optimize working relationships and clarify roles and responsibilities
  • Takes accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong influencing/negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
  • Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.

Required Experience & Education:

  • 810 years of professional experience including people leader experience.
  • Must have a Bachelor of computer engineering degree
  • Proven experience leading/managing technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team.
  • Experience with vendor management in an onshore/offshore model.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred: Industry certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or Six Sigma Green Belt

Desired Experience:

  • Healthcare experience
  • Coaching of team members, Agile / Scrum / Scrum master
  • GitHub, OpenShift, Kafka, MongoDB, AWS, Serverless, Lambda, OpenSearch
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Proficient in internal integration within AWS ecosystem using Lambda functions, leveraging services such as Event Bridge, S3, SQS, SNS, and others.
  • Experienced in internal integration within AWS using DynamoDB with Lambda functions, demonstrating the ability to architect and implement robust serverless applications.
  • CI/CD experience: must have GitHub experience.
  • Proficient in working with the SAM (Serverless Application Model) framework, with a strong command of Lambda functions using Java.
  • Hands on experience with Java Spring Boot
  • Solid understanding of OOP, Design Patterns and Data Structures
  • Experience in building REST APIs/Microservices
  • Strong understanding of parallel processing, concurrency and asynchronous concepts
