About the Role

The Head of Internal Audit dives deep into company records and financial documents to uncover potential issues such as compliance breaches, risks, fraud, and data discrepancies. By leveraging their expertise in laws, industry standards, and company procedures, they spot instances of noncompliance, financial misconduct, and other threats to the business.

The role of Head of Internal Audit entails:

  • Financial Record Examination: Delve into a company's financial records to pinpoint areas of concern or risk.
  • Compliance Analysis: Identify potential noncompliance by leveraging knowledge of regulations and internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Assess financial and legal risks within internal data and records.
  • Theft and Fraud Detection: Detect internal fraud and theft, including fund misuse and embezzlement.
  • Communication: Effectively relay audit findings orally and in writing when required.
  • Evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of internal controls: Review and analyze internal controls to ensure they are adequate and functioning optimally. Make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Conducting risk assessments: Evaluate organizational risks and develop strategies to manage and mitigate them.
  • Performing financial audits: Review financial records, transactions, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conducting operational audits: Assess operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness, recommending improvements.
  • Investigating fraud and misconduct: Conduct investigations on suspected fraud or non-compliance, preparing detailed reports.
  • Providing assurance and advisory services: Offer management independent assurance on operations, risk management, and controls, along with advice for improvement.
  • Reporting and communication: Summarize findings, recommendations, and action plans in reports and communicate them to management.
  • Continuous improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, monitor audit recommendations, and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Qualified CA with over 15 years of Audit experience, including 5 years as Head of Internal Audit
  • Prior experience in Saas industry for a Series E company and Big4 would be a plus
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking prowess
  • Effective problem solver with strong analytical abilities
