About the Role

The Head of Internal Audit plays a crucial role in examining company records and financial documents. This position involves identifying compliance issues, risks, fraud, and data inaccuracies. Internal Auditors leverage their knowledge of laws, industry regulations, and company policies to detect potential instances of noncompliance, financial mismanagement, and other business risks.

The responsibilities of Head of Internal Audit include:

- Financial Record Examination: Careful scrutiny of a company's financial records to pinpoint areas of risk or concern.

- Compliance Analysis: Identifying potential noncompliance by applying understanding of industry regulations and company policies.

- Risk Management: Assessing financial and legal risks by reviewing internal data and records.

- Theft and Fraud Detection: Proactively seeking out internal fraud and theft, including fund misuse, embezzlement, and time fraud.

- Communication: Effectively conveying audit findings orally and in written reports.

- Evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of internal controls: Reviewing organizational internal controls to ensure adequacy and functionality, with recommendations for improvement.

- Conducting risk assessments: Evaluating organizational risks, developing risk management strategies, and proposing measures to mitigate risks.

- Performing financial audits: Reviewing financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and identifying errors or irregularities.

- Conducting operational audits: Assesing operational processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and proposing improvements to boost productivity and efficiency.

- Investigating fraud and misconduct: Probing suspected fraud, misconduct, or non-compliance, gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and preparing reports.

- Providing assurance and advisory services: Offering independent assurance on operations, risk management, and internal controls, alongside advice to enhance processes and achieve objectives.

- Reporting and communication: Summarizing findings, recommendations, and action plans, facilitating discussions with management.

- Continuous improvement: Promoting a culture of improvement, monitoring audit recommendation implementation, staying informed on industry trends, and enhancing methodologies.

Requirements

Qualified CA with over 15 Years of experience in Audit, with at least 5 years as Head of Internal Audit.Prior experience in Saas industry for a Series E company and Big4 is advantageous.Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and strong critical thinking are a must.Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify solutions, and make informed decisions.
