Vegrow is all about connecting the dots between demand and supply for fruits, bringing together various channels in 100 cities on the demand side and over 30,000 farmers on the supply side.

Through its distinctive community advisory approach, Vegrow engages digitally with farmers across 400+ production pockets, helping them align with market expectations and achieve better yields for increased income.

Processing more than 400 tons of fruits every day, Vegrow has seen significant growth in the past year with top-notch gross margins of around 20%. The company attributes its success to its advanced technology and data infrastructure spanning the entire value chain.

Vegrow has developed tools to capture farmer insights, estimate farm produce, and gauge demand in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III markets.

The founders of Vegrow are deeply passionate about the Agricultural field and bring a wealth of experience from prestigious institutions like IITs, as well as from their time at companies such as ITC, Urban Company, AgroStar, and Chronus.

A rapidly expanding company, Vegrow now boasts a team of over 450 young and enthusiastic members led by seasoned entrepreneurs with expertise in both Agricultural and non-Agricultural realms, originating from reputable organizations including Godrej, Reliance, ITC, and Microsoft.

Having secured US$46M in its recent Series C funding in January 2024, led by GIC and with the continued support of various investors like Prosus Ventures, Matrix Partners India, and Elevation Capital, Vegrow continues to thrive.

About the Role: Responsible for the strategic administration and management of

Employee Compensation & Benefits and Total Rewards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Shape and execute the rewards strategy organization-wide
  • Conduct Performance Management Review Programs at all levels and regions
  • Propose and implement changes in benefit, wellness, and rewards plans that align with company goals and enhance employee experience.
  • Develop innovative rewards programs to boost the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the design and rollout of benefits in alignment with compensation philosophy and industry best practices
  • Manage benefit programs like healthcare, accident, and life insurance; collaborate with HR counterparts on program implementation and management.
  • Manage ESOP strategy with effective planning, communication, and compliance to ensure alignment with company objectives and employee education.
  • Handle processes like Salary Planning, Bonus Planning, and introduction of new benefits.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to conduct market assessments and compensation consulting as per business requirements.
  • Review and enhance compensation and benefits policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Lead external surveys and internal surveys like ESAT and Performance surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with labor requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Support other HR projects as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of developing a Rewards model and talent landscape, preferably in a startup setting.
  • Knowledge: Proficiency in various Rewards tools, Models, ESOPS, etc.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence and manage expectations across multiple stakeholders
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to explain compensation and benefits plan design clearly
  • Collaboration: Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and optimize plan design for better results.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • MBA/PG from a reputable business school.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a total rewards or C&B role
  • Prior experience in Startup companies preferred
  • Extensive experience in constructing Rewards framework
