Job Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MEP Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials and equipment. The MEP Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing MEP materials to support the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:

  • Identify and qualify suppliers of MEP materials and equipment through market research and supplier evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.

Procurement Planning:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop procurement plans and schedules for MEP materials and equipment.
  • Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine quantities, lead times, and procurement strategies for MEP items.
  • Forecast demand for MEP materials and equipment based on project schedules and project requirements.

Purchase Order Management:

  • Create and issue purchase orders for MEP materials and equipment in accordance with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Monitor the status of purchase orders and track delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to facilitate the receipt and storage of MEP materials.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that purchased MEP materials and equipment meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct supplier audits and inspections to assess quality performance and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Address any quality issues or non-conformances related to MEP materials and equipment in a timely manner.

Cost Management:

  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and currency exchange rates to identify cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Analyze supplier proposals and quotes to evaluate cost competitiveness and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiency in MEP procurement processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the EPC industry with a focus on MEP materials and equipment.
  • Experience in Mechanical (HVAC) Background is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and components, including specifications, standards, and sourcing channels.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP systems for procurement and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of contract law and experience in contract negotiation.

Understanding of international trade regulations and logistics processes
