Change & Release ManagerThe role of Change & Release Manager is to control changes and ensure the Release and Deployment Management process are achieved in a standardized manner in relation to a organizations policies, procedures and plans while ensuring minimal impact upon customers.

The objective includes to build, test and deliver the capability to provide the services specified and that will accomplish the stakeholders' requirements and deliver the intended objectives.1.3.1 RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure each and every Change & Release is recorded and approved before implementationEnsure the Change & Release Management process is applied in the most appropriate manner possible within the OrganizationEnsure Change/ Releases are categorized & prioritized and are approved as per the defined Process basedEnsure that standardized methods and techniques are used in the preparation, building, testing and implementation of Releases and in-line with Change ManagementChair CAB meetings, circulate the MOM of the CABs, conduct Post Implementation Reviews for Changes & Releases, conduct periodical audits in place as per Wipro and Customer process and the close the Audit-gaps in the agreed timelines.

Review Forward Schedule of Changes to identify RFCs that should be Full, Delta or Package ReleasesEnsure proper planning wrt scope, building, roll-back, testing, deployment & delivery of ReleasesDelivery of compilation, build and test results into Evaluation Predicted performance reportObtaining resources to deliver the release, compiling the Release Units into the Release Package, Structuring, and controlling test environments, Service release test, Service Operation readiness testManage the deployment team, ensure roles and responsibilities are understoodTransfer of pre-test elements (Agreements, financial assets, roll back plans), ServiceDeployment / Removal of the service / superfluous servicesPerform CSI SIP, lessons learned are loggedMonitor & Report on the agreed, CSF, SLA & KPIs and ensure effective communicationEnsuring the Release and Deployment Management process is performed as designed and the required training programs are in place for both IT and the user communityAct as the central point of escalation for members of the process team.

Also ensure that escalation to the process owner and other key process owners is executed as required

  • 1.3.2 KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES7-10 years of ITSM experience in Change and Release ManagementExperience in any Agile, DevOps, Automated build, CI/CD frameworksExcellent communication skills in dealing with people at all levels within the organization and externallyITIL 4 Foundation / ITIL MSF CertificationMust have working knowledge and experience on deployment of automation toolsAbility to plan builds and releases with good written and verbal communication skillsShould have adequate writing skills for preparing release notes and appropriate release documentsCapable to collaborate with Multiple Technical towers, face the Customer, coordinate with the Vendors
