The Vice President of Digital Media & Content Strategy is a marketing technology executive who applies best practices in the latest consumerism technology platforms to growth strategy and the development of our reputation through a comprehensive storytelling team. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of digital, owned and earned media strategies, as well as the cultivation and management of all internal and external communications for the OU Health clinical enterprise. This role provides consultative support and guidance to the Chief Marketing & Growth Officer on technical strategy relating to growth, engagement, and patient loyalty strategies. Additionally, it leads the development and distribution of written, oral, and digital communication tactics to proactively deliver the organization's key messages to a wide variety of external and internal stakeholders, utilizing marketing technology, digital media, media relations, internal communications, and branded journalism. The role is a part of the marketing leadership cabinet for the overall OU/OU Health brand enterprise and will collaborate across University Partners to ensure linkage to the academic brand while maintaining a distinct academic healthcare brand positioning for OU Health.

Essential Responsibilities:

Works with the Chief Marketing & Growth Officer in developing and maintaining public relations, digital media and strategic internal communication plans for the system. Provides expertise, planning and implementation surrounding consumerism technology strategy that advances growth, engagement, and patient loyalty. Develops, creates, and monitors benchmark data and criteria that measure effectiveness of digital marketing and social media initiatives. Continuously looks for new channels, delivery systems, and creative solutions to keep communications fresh, compelling, and relevant. Oversees the social media strategy for the organization and ensures its integration into all marketing plans. Works with Brand & Growth Marketing team to track and measures online marketing programs, designing test strategies and creative to optimize results. Acts as a lead technical consultant to clients and management to support the enterprise's strategic objectives by providing analysis of new and different marketing and customer technologies; recommending cost-effective solutions to meet specific technical or business requirements. Leads crisis response and issues management in the public domain to protect and enhance the health care enterprise's reputation among key stakeholders (customers, patients, general consumers, employees, media, and policymakers). Directs the development and implementation of strategic external communication plans by developing branded news channels and maximizing the use of existing communications vehicles and the talent of the team. Leads a team of leaders spanning Media Relations, Branded Journalism/Content Strategy, Strategic Communications and Digital Media to ensure all plans are integrated, strategic and executed in an accurate, timely, professional, and effective manner. Leads a 24/7/365 media relations, social media, and internal communications on-call infrastructure. Leads, manages, and implements strategic communications strategies to ensure effective communication is disseminated within key audience segments as applicable. Leads the reporting of campaigns with the development of a digital media and communications dashboard as a reporting and measuring tool that demonstrates an attention to detail with strong data analysis skills that can communicate outcomes. Maintains open communication and collaboration within the department and across the organization. Ensures internal stakeholders and customers are informed and knowledgeable about the development, implementation, and reporting of marketing technology initiatives. Provides leadership on delegated departmental initiatives as assigned.

General Responsibilities:

Education: Master's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in public relations, communications, or journalism. Will consider candidates with master's degree in progress.

Experience:

Minimum of ten (10) years' experience of progressive leadership experience with at least five years of Digital Media and Content Strategy experience preferably in healthcare.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

Current Driver's License and that the employee is insurable by the OU Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer within the Windows operating system. This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.
