Job Title: EDU Manager – Mechanical Integration

Purpose of the Job

• Managing and developing the Mechanical Integration Team on Site
• Promoting and ensuring deployment of QMS and corresponding Engineering Instructions, Process and tools for Mechanical Integration EDU on Site.
• Managing the Mechanical Integration EDU workload on Site
• Managing Mechanical Integration EDU resources, activities and deliverables on a project in compliance with QCD commitments.
• Applying applicable Mechanical Domain instructions, processes & tools.

Missions

Performance Measurement/KPI's

• Closure of open points or escalation: 10 days maximum
• Compliance to Engineering Work Package (variation orders excluded): 100%
• Quality of his delivery (included sub-contractor delivery): 1st time quality rate > 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK / number of applied modification)
• Respect of the delivery planning (included sub-contractor delivery) = 100% OTD
• Application level of standard PPL = 100%
• Configuration management of his deliverables = 100% of deliverables properly managed into configuration database
• Respect of Cost allocation

Responsibilities

Accountable for :

• Ensuring the proper follow-up of the Métier Quality and Delivery on Mechanical Integration Work packages.
• Ensuring understanding and application of the TD rules, processes and tools (single-domain).
• Ensuring that mechanical design reviews (single domain) are prepared and documented as per the project/program schedule and to follow-up the main open actions.
• Ensuring proper collaborative work with other EDUs/Domains/Métier/Departments
• Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Mechanical Domain scope.
• Performing project Mechanical Domain activities in compliance with QCD commitments.
• Planning and piloting Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
• Ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
• Reporting on Mechanical Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
• Monitoring assigned Mechanical Sub-Systems deliveries conformity with project needs.
• Checking availability on time of work package input data and escalate if necessary.

Responsible for :

• Managing the development of the Mechanical Integration team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills and the transfer of activities if needed.
• Defining Mechanical Integration architecture taking into account weight, gauge, installation strategy, acoustics, eco design, ergonomics, aerodynamics, aeraulic...
• Allocating adequate mechanical resources to the projects/programs/tenders.
• Applying and follow-up the People Management Cycle on time for Mechanical Integration team according to N+1 and HR instructions.
• Supporting the Mechanical Integration team in the resolution of issues and challenging actions (multi-domains) in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external).
• Reporting on Mechanical Integration activities progress and alerting in case of main issue (capacity, skills, rule applicability, etc.).
• Verifying relevant Mechanical Integration deliverables and securing planning.
• Signaling issue and/or making proposals to TD Central Engineering that would contribute to continuous improvement of the Mechanical Domain
• Applying TD rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
• Managing production of deliverables in accordance with planning targets on Mechanical Domain assigned work packages.
• Designing products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
• Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following-up the main open actions.
• Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
• Resolving Project Mechanical issues and following challenging actions (single-domain)
• Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Mechanical Domain scope.
• Respecting and/or allocating requirements and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
• Coordinating Mechanical Domain contributors on Project.
• Analyzing and consolidating change request impacts on Mechanical Domain scope
• Producing Mechanical Domain deliverables (RSAD L2, Validation Plan, etc.)
• Verifying relevant Mechanical Domain deliverables and securing planning.
• Verifying design via mock-ups or simulations.

Contributor for :

• Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Mechanical (multi-domains)
• Perform quotation of engineering work package , upon request
• Defining Project Mechanical Decomposition (PBS)
• Defining Mechanical Project/Product Preferred Part List (3PL) delivery.
• Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
• Collaborating with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE)
• Defining Mechanical Domain architecture taking into account weight, gauge, installation strategy, acoustics, eco design, ergonomics, aerodynamics, aeraulic...
• Establishing Certification & Validation Plans for TD scope.

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience

• Mechanical Engineering preferably applied to Railway products with 4 to 6 years of experience.
• Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer).
• Experience of 3+ years team management
• Conflict Management and multitasking
• Customer Focus / Management skills
• Time management and reporting skill.
• Sense of urgency / priority.
• Customer & Product Focus.
• Structured and organized with Hands-on approach.
• English operational in read/writing and technical meetings.
