Market Development Manager

**CIRCOR, a company specializing in industrial valves,**

**Location:** COIMBATORE, INDIA

**Direct Reporting:** HEAD SALES - INDUSTRIAL VALVES

**Functional Reporting:** Not Applicable

Position Summary

Acquires, establishes, and develops relationships with prospective customers in a specific geographic area, focusing on various product lines of Industrial Valves. Drives business development actions and collaborates closely with business partners in assigned markets to expand the customer base and achieve business growth with defined margins.

Principal Activities

  • Develops and implements strategies to reach new customers and markets as well as expand existing ones by utilizing the CIRCOR global product portfolio
  • Identifies and nurtures commercial opportunities through a B2B approach, within the direct area of expertise and across defined markets
  • Conducts market research and analyzes data to gain deeper insights into customer needs and market trends
  • Collects market intelligence and periodically reports to management
  • Effectively anticipates customer needs and trends to develop market forecasts, assess competitors, manage budgets, and drive business growth
  • Identifies channel partners and nurtures them into long-term collaborators to enhance regional business growth
  • Establishes relationships with key stakeholders in targeted markets and enhances sales performance
  • Initiates connections with potential customers and partners, designs marketing campaigns to boost brand visibility, and monitors the competitive landscape for new possibilities
  • Collaborates with the marketing/product management team to craft compelling communication and promotional materials/channels
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to steer various Market Development initiatives
  • Willingness to travel within India by 60-70% and internationally as needed

  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership skills to deliver results and self-motivated
  • Understanding of sales & marketing principles and market development
  • Ability and experience in managing multiple product lines
  • Skills in coordinating and leading internal sales teams and channel partners
  • Proficient in business communication and preparing commercial proposals
  • Understanding of profit and loss calculations and basic business finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and business development skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams across multiple locations
  • Experience in managing major customers in the Indian region is essential
  • Desirable experience with global customers
  • Effective people management skills, including leveraging resources at remote locations
  • Strategic thinking and ability to produce results through others, along with customer management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and data management
  • Experience in organizing market promotion activities such as Industrial Expos and Trade Shows

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor / Master's Degree in Engineering. Post Graduation in any Management field is a plus
  • Experience: 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in Business Development/Marketing, preferably within the Industrial Products sector
