Our client, a global Investment firm, offers alternative asset management and capital markets and insurance solutions.
The firm aims to generate attractive investment returns by following a patient and disciplined investment approach, employing world-class people, and supporting growth in its portfolio companies and communities.
The firm sponsors investment funds that invest in private equity, credit and real assets and has strategic partners that manage hedge funds.
As the Manager Tax , the incumbent would be responsible for collaborating with various groups within the firm on a variety of projects including working closely with the tax advisors to coordinate tax data for investor reporting, analyze tax treatment and review tax withholding calculations, review tax provisions for blocker corporations, respond to investor and ad-hoc tax related requests.
The team functions at a high level in a fast-paced environment, consistently collaborating with our finance team, deal team members and external legal and tax advisors.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESOperational ExcellenceWork closely with outside service providers to ensure timely preparation and filing of fund, co-invests, separately managed accounts, internal discretionary entities annual schedules k-1'sDemonstrate strong communication and email writing skills with the ability to correspond directly with banks, investors, Big 4 tax advisors, legal advisors, etc.
Stakeholder ManagementInteract with the team on a frequent basis to understand their requirements, reporting needs and identify possible concerns and issuesReview investor tax questions and send clear and well written email responsesHandle numerous ad-hoc tax related requests for relevant stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required8+ years of experience in a multinational Financial Services organization with Private Equity exposure and understands business processes for US Partnership Tax compliance functions (US individual tax exposure a plus)
Experience with US tax reporting; details included as part of a partnership federal Schedule K-1, K-2 and K-3 issued to investors as well as state K-1sDemonstrates an understanding of complex tax technical issuesDemonstrates an understanding of the structure of an investment, including deciphering a structure chart and potential US tax information reporting for investors.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, including strong communication skills and email writing skills with the ability to correspond directly with banks, investors, Big 4 tax advisors, legal advisors, colleagues, etc.
