Gurgaon, Haryana, India Agilent Technologies Inc. Full time

Provides tax advice and services in assigned areas of technical expertise to Agilent at the enterprise and entity levels, and to managers or other employees in the areas of compliance (including SOX), transfer pricing, planning and training.

Assigned areas may include involvement in company income tax, transaction tax, property tax, corporate legal structure, acquisitions and divestitures, transfer pricing and intercompany transactions and other tax areas.

Researches, prepares, analyzes and documents tax issues and compliance for the geographic and process area of responsibility including related systems and accounting understanding, working with outside advisors where appropriate.

Partners with the businesses and other functions in the implementation of business or process changes.

Participates in the formulation, coordination and implementation of Agilent's global tax strategy with the objective of optimizing global after-tax results.

Participates in the representation of Agilent in audits, litigation and other negotiation with government authorities relating to tax matters.

Participates in cross functional projects partnering with finance & non finance functions like Corporate Controllership Organization, Corporate Financial Reporting, Human Resources, legal, corporate development, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order management.

Qualifications:

Transaction Tax Representative (ICB Intermediate) - Job Description:
You will be working within Agilent's Global Indirect Tax compliance team in India as an Indirect Tax Representative.

  • You will,
  • Be responsible for Asia Pacific region's indirect tax returns of medium/large sized enterprises with indepth understanding of complex/multinational transaction flows.
  • Should be able to ensure seamless delivery on present compliance processes, raise the flag proactively and to ensure things do not fall through the cracks
  • Be well versed with updated tax regulatory requirements of the countries assigned to you
  • Can assess the impact of tax regulatory changes on the present process and recommend necessary modifications to incorporate the same
  • Acting as a coach and mentor for the preparers and provide necessary guidance on adherence to process procedures/controls
  • Review of complex tax reconciliations and provide issue resolution on complex tax accounting queries
  • Can work with cross functional teams under the guidance of process manager on issues/queries involving other finance/nonfinance functions
  • Can support audits/assignments (SOX/ Internal /Tax Audits) with mínimal handholding and supervision.
  • You may be assigned (as a secondary responsibility) to work & provide support on Tax/enterprise projects and/or Tax audit, as required by your manager.
  • External Qualifications: Qualification/Related work experience
  • You are a qualified accountant (CA /CWA)
  • You should necessarily have 56 years of relevant experience on Indian indirect tax areas (experience in International VAT is preferred) covering compliance, audits & consulting preferably in manufacturing, retail or trading industry.
  • You should have a strong understanding of Financial Accounting concepts, standards & principles i.e. thorough understanding of collection, recording, consolidation, reconciliation, analysis, reporting and presentation of accounting and financial information used by management for financial/tax planning and control. As well as a sound understanding of internal financial controls and fundamentals of Sarbanes Oxley Act.
  • You are proficient in communication, influencing, and presentation skills. And have ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, with internal customers and stakeholder groups from across countries.
