Job Overview

In our quest to guide clients through their digital evolution by offering innovative solutions to enhance their operational workflows, we are seeking a dynamic Senior DevOps Engineer to reinforce our CloudOS Managed Infrastructure Services unit within the Signavio CloudOS Group. Our objective is to establish a robust foundation for our software developers, enabling them to concentrate on value creation - taking advantage of SAP's scale without being overwhelmed by administrative burdens, while prioritizing simplicity, incorporating security and compliance measures seamlessly. We take pride in our adherence to a Cloud OS Engineering paradigm, relying solely on infrastructure-as-code practices, and we consistently strive to integrate emerging technologies that address our most pressing challenges once they are validated. Working alongside a team of DevOps Engineers, you will contribute to the adoption and administration of a diverse range of infrastructure services for Signavio CloudOS.

Your Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping both the platform and the team by influencing all technical aspects of software development, including our DevOps culture, methodologies, feasibility assessments, timely project delivery, development principles and protocols, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads/Architects and development/DevOps specialists to devise and implement solutions and best practices for overseeing infrastructure services across Signavio CloudOS utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, CDK, and Terraform
  • Promote and uphold our rigorous infrastructure-as-code / GitOps strategy on AWS
  • Oversight and management of a wide array of infrastructure and CI/CD services such as AWS SES, S3, AWS MQ, GitHub, among others, offering robust solutions tailored to the requirements of delivery teams
  • Contribute to the construction of a unified platform leveraging AWS and SAP BTP
  • In collaboration with engineers from diverse delivery teams, facilitate support for multiple environments and endeavor to enhance code infrastructure, continuous testing, and security measures
  • Engage in the transition to the Cross-Plane framework and collaborate with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
  • Facilitate other software engineering teams in assuming ownership of their respective sections of the infrastructure
  • Working alongside compliance and security experts to ensure that our SaaS product complies with the regulatory standards applicable to contemporary B2B SaaS solutions and aligns with our business imperatives

Your Qualifications

  • Extensive professional background with advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, or Java
  • Demonstrated expertise in Linux, inclusive of Bash scripting
  • Proven experience in configuring and managing AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM, Route 53), preferably employing IaC tools like CDK/TypeScript, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Prior exposure to working with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with the SAP Business Technology Platform would be advantageous
  • Application of software engineering principles like GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD, TDD, and GitHub workflow to infrastructure operations
  • Comprehensive grasp of concepts related to High Availability, Scalability, Security, and Disaster Recovery
  • Adept at utilizing monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK stack
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with developers, operations personnel, and other stakeholders
  • Strong inclination towards automating manual processes

Our CloudOS teams are tasked with overseeing cloud and database infrastructure, shared infrastructure services, observability and monitoring initiatives, as well as security operations, with the overarching objective of establishing a streamlined Internal Developer Platform.
