Location: Bengaluru, India

Job Description

Vocera, now a part of Stryker, seeks a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be a key player in our DevOps team, focusing on development within AWS and Azure platforms. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing infrastructure as code for both private and public clouds, managing configuration management code and infrastructure, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of various SaaS products. We prioritize automation of operational tasks and are looking for an operational engineer with a developer's mindset. This position requires the ability to learn quickly, work independently, and reports to the Manager of DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage production environments in AWS.
  • Create scripts for automated deployment and configuration management.
  • Upgrade live applications with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tech Support, and other stakeholders for necessary code changes.
  • Support the management and upgrade of the Dev and QA environments.
  • Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Conduct operational benchmarking and scaling.
  • Manage new customer provisioning and issue-tracking workflows.
  • Automate tasks through tool integration or development.
  • Develop and maintain deployment, monitoring, security, patching, and auditing tools.
  • Participate in incident reviews and enhance operational environments continuously.
  • Deliver quality code and features punctually.

  • Passionate about DevOps and proficient in a modern DevOps toolset with a strong Linux background.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintaining AWS/Azure applications, with at least 3 years in a DevOps role.
  • Familiarity with services like EC2, S3, Route53, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Github.
  • Background in software engineering, specifically in enterprise, cloud, web, or SaaS environments.
  • Knowledge of networking solutions like pfSense and Palo Alto.
  • Proficiency in system automation, scripting, and deployment tools.
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and databases like MySQL, SQL Server, MariaDB.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and travel as required.
