Job Title: Associate Director – Research and Insights

Department: Strategy Practice - Media

Reports To: Head of Strategy Practice

Purpose: As a pivotal member of the Strategy Practice, the resource will be responsible for driving data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to optimize our media strategies and enhance campaign performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of media landscape, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research Strategy Development:
  • Lead the development and implementation of research strategies to uncover consumer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define research objectives and establish clear KPIs aligned with client goals and business objectives.
  1. Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various sources including market research studies, audience surveys, and media performance metrics.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights that inform media planning and optimization.
  1. Insights Generation:
  • Generate actionable insights that guide media strategy development, audience targeting, and messaging optimization.
  • Translate complex data into compelling narratives and presentations tailored to different stakeholders including clients, internal teams, and senior management.
  1. Strategic Recommendations:
  • Develop strategic recommendations based on research findings and insights to optimize media plans, maximize ROI, and drive business impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research insights into overall media strategies and campaign executions.
  1. Client Engagement:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and insights that support their business objectives.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops to articulate research findings and recommendations effectively.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior members of the research and insights team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging skill enhancement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in research and insights roles within the media industry, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven expertise in designing and executing research studies, analyzing data, and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of media planning, buying, and optimization processes across traditional and digital channels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, compelling insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
