Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Packaging Development for providing strategic packaging inputs, crafting development strategies, and ensuring the successful design and delivery of packaging/devices for pharmaceutical products. Your role involves aligning packaging strategies with regulatory requirements, developing structured scientific approaches, and overseeing the entire packaging development process.
Roles & Responsibilities

• Your responsibility involves assessing and providing packaging inputs for products in the development and R&D phase, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

• You will be responsible for crafting a packaging development strategy aligned with Reference Medicinal Product (RMP) and marketing requirements, aiming to provide a competitive advantage for the organization. This includes understanding patient needs, market complaints, and business milestones.

• You will be responsible for developing a structured scientific strategy for critical projects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the business needs and projected project milestones.

• You will be responsible for designing and developing packaging/devices that meet product requirements, safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Obtain approvals for proposed packaging strategies, ensure Intellectual Property and Regulatory affair (IP/RA) clearance, and support vendor/partner evaluations. Monitor project timelines, comply with design control requirements, and oversee lab scale stability data.

• You will be responsible for keeping packaging off the critical path for all projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones. Land all packaging milestones on time and in full (OTIF).

• You will be responsible for addressing Food Drug Approval deficiencies promptly, aiming to minimize and eliminate repeated deficiencies. Provide support for new product filings, oversee design control documentation, and implement regulatory changes/updates.

• You will be responsible for providing proactive technical guidance to team members, conduct periodic training to enhance skills and performance, and be ready to take on new challenges. Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

.You will also be responsible for developing a packaging lab at Biologics for all R&D with regards to packaging materials, specifications, devices etc

.You will be responsible to drive the suatainability agenda at Biologics for Packaging materials, we need to assess and propose better environmentally safe and sustainable materials

Qualifications

Educational qualification: B.E/B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum work experience: 7-9 years of experience in Pharma/life Sciences/ related industry
Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience on medical device development, injectable / drug delivery systems.
Familiarity with CFR 820.30, relevant ISO, Design Controls, Design verification, Test methods development, DHF preparation, US & EU device filing requirements
Expertise in Threshold Analysis, Risk Assessments, Regulatory requirements & Guidelines applicable for Combination Products
Experience in Mechanical systems design and troubleshooting, Injection Moulding, Tolerance Stack-up analysis.
Behavioural Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective planning and high level of performance orientation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with own team and cross-functional teams.
