Job Description:We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team. Your main responsibility will be to order supplies and equipment in accordance with our company's needs. This will involve researching new vendors, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate order records, including dates, invoices, and discounts. Familiarity with supply chain procedures and the ability to create and interpret cost analyses are important for this role. Your goal will be to make cost-effective purchases while ensuring our inventory remains well-stocked.

Responsibilities:

  • Collecting quotations from various vendors for materials needed at site.
  • Comparing rates, quality, and terms offered by different suppliers.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable deals if required.
  • Issuing Purchase Orders (PO) using BSF ERP software to chosen suppliers.
  • Following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials as per PO.
  • Verifying and processing invoices received from suppliers for materials delivered.
  • Entering purchase bill details accurately into the BSF ERP system.
  • Forwarding invoices to the accounts department for verification and payment.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs

Qualifications:

  • Work experience as a purchasing assistant / purchasing officer or similar role.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Knowledge of market research
  • B.Sc. in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
