About the Role:

The City Head of Quality is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency across all operational processes within the assigned city. This role involves designing, deploying, and standardizing business processes, standard operating procedures, and checklists across various gate stages of critical to quality (CTQ) parameters. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams to identify and execute quality and cost optimization projects using methodologies such as VSM, SMED, Time and Motion Study, POKAYOKE, KANBAN, ANDON, Visual Management, 5S, and Routine Work Management. Additionally, the role demands the application of advanced problem-solving tools including 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, QCC, and QIT to standardize processes through an analytical problem-solving approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement standardized processes, SOPs, and checklists across CTQ parameters.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and execute quality and cost optimization projects.
  • Conduct audits at experience centers, site visits, supplier and factory visits to assess existing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives in coordination with cross-functional teams and develop SOPs in focus areas.
  • Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and execute cost reduction, quality, reliability improvement, and supply chain projects.
  • Apply problem-solving and analytical skills using tools like 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, QCC, QIT, PERT, and CPM.
  • Utilize analysis software such as Power BI, Minitab, and advanced MS-Excel for data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as an ISO 9001 lead auditor, if qualified.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the automobile industry or manufacturing sector.
  • Educational Background: BE / B.Tech in Civil, Architecture, Mechanical CAD/Design Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. An MBA is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Professional Courses: Lean Management, Six Sigma Black Belt, Total Quality Management.

The City Head of Quality will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring high-quality standards, thereby significantly contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the business operations within the city.
