Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Installation, Testing and Troubleshooting, Commissioning Service Engineer specializing in Solar Power, Electrical Panels to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Solar electrical panels and associated systems. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-centric approach to service delivery. As an Installation, Commissioning, Testing and Troubleshooting Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of Solar Projects for our clients.


Responsibilities:

  1. Testing and Commissioning:
  • Perform comprehensive testing and commissioning of Solar electrical panels, including switch-gear, cabling & distribution boards, control panels, and associated components.
  • Conduct functional tests, insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and performance tests to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Generate detailed test reports and documentation, including as-built drawings, test procedures, and equipment records.

  1. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
  • Identify and diagnose solar panel faults, electrical faults, malfunctions, and performance issues in panels and control systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to isolate problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop troubleshooting strategies and preventive maintenance plans.

Repairs and Maintenance:

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to rectify solar and its electrical faults and restore functionality.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of equipment, to prolong equipment life span and prevent downtime.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Customer Support:

  • Interface directly with clients to understand their requirements, visit and do site surveys, address concerns, and provide technical assistance and support.
  • Respond promptly to service requests, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, maintaining a positive and collaborative relationship throughout the service process.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations governing solar electrical installations and equipment.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery processes and procedures.


Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree/Diploma in electrical engineering or related field. Other ENGG Disciplines willing to learn are welcome too.
  • 0-2 years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, and servicing electrical panels and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, components, and systems, with a focus on panels and switch-gear.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software applications used in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NEMA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours as needed.
