About the role:

As the General Manager - Interior Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of interior design projects within our organization. This role combines leadership, design expertise, project management, and business acumen to ensure successful execution of interior design projects from conception to completion. You will lead a team of designers, coordinate with brands and stakeholders, manage budgets and resources, and uphold quality standards to deliver exceptional interior design solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

1. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the interior design team.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and skill development.

2. Material and Finish Selection:

  • Research and select high-quality materials, finishes, textiles, and decorative elements that enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of interior spaces.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to procure materials and finishes and ensure timely delivery and installation.

3. Project Management:

  • Oversee multiple interior design projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with brands and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as architecture, engineering, and construction to ensure seamless project execution.

4. Brand Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for brands, understanding their needs, preferences, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to develop design concepts, proposals, and presentations that align with their vision and requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any concerns or changes promptly.

5. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor project expenses, track financial performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts, fees, and pricing with vendors to maximize profitability.

6. Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold high-quality standards in design deliverables, ensuring they meet or exceed the expectations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of design concepts, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Proven experience of 12+ years in interior design project management, with a focus on uber luxury residential/commercial/hospitality projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of designers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, and team members.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, materials, and construction techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
