SourceFuse Technologies hiring Migration Specialist with 6+ years of experience.
Job Requirements:
The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for executing complex data migration services. This will include but is not limited to: extracting, transforming, and loading large and disparate data sets across databases. You will be responsible for identifying complex data objects, charting out a migration path and use their prior experience in moving schemas, all data objects primarily from MS SQL to an open source database like Postgres. Data Migration Specialists are also proficient DBAs who seek to consistently improve the tools and processes required to successfully migrate intricate client data as well as own documentation and training for these tools and processes.
Skill & Abilities
● Experienced consulting professional in MS SQL & PGSQL Database who has an understanding of solutions, industry best practices, business processes, technology designs
● Experience in Migration of Database from MS SQL to PostgreSQL
● Ability to manage RDS servers. Should have hands on experience in writing SQL, managing indexes and schema.
● 5+ years production experience working as an MS SQL DBA, in an enterprise environment
● Operational experience in monitoring and tuning issues majorly involved in optimizing the performance and functionality.
● Operational experience in data migration at scale with an overall knowledge in Cloud Computing ● Thorough knowledge of DB Performance, SQL Tuning
● Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
● An understanding of data relationships and objects within MS SQL and Postgres
● Thorough Knowledge in RMAN and backup processes and operation
● Thorough Knowledge in MS SQL Database RAC, ASM, Data Guard and Performance tuning
● Experience with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering mission critical databases ● Experience with MS SQL Applications (EBS, BI, etc) DBA with understanding for Application technology stack of 11i, 12,1,x & 12.2.x
● Lead and contribute to design discussions in a cross functional project setting.
● Develop database standards, guidelines and best practices.
● Experience in troubleshooting, tuning and optimizing performance of database servers.
● Experience in AWS DB services like DMS, SCT, RDS etc.
● Excellent in PgSQL, Strong in Database Concepts DDL, DML, Replication, Performance
● Design, maintain and ensure high availability solutions including replication, clustering etc.
● Provide proactive and reactive data management support to ensure database security, integrity, stability and system availability
● DB Migration from MS SQL to PostgreSQL and address implementation challenges
● Monitor the performance of the database and ensure optimum performance.
● Identify potential issues in the database to solve them early.
● Resolve any data issues, Schema, Role management
● Use technical skills, industry knowledge and custom tools to efficiently perform data analysis and migrations of 3rd party/client data from MS SQL to Postgres.
● Work directly with the technical teams to effectively coordinate each migration project to completion.
● Monitor all work for quality while troubleshooting and resolving errors as necessary.
● Assess the necessary requirements to execute data services and anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
● Create and articulate innovative strategies and plans for complex data needs.
● System-thinker that can understand complex concepts and apply new information quickly.
● Cross-departmental collaboration in communicating process successes/failures to internal and external stakeholders to identify potential areas of improvement.
● Work with industry standard ETL tools to build on and improve a library of data connections.
● DBA lifecycle Support (Patching, Backup, Upgrades, migrations)
● Monitoring and Queue management (SRs, RFCs, JIRAs)
● Critical escalation support where skilled DBA resources are needed
