- Category StrategyDevelopment: Implement the procurement strategy for theTransportation category aligned with overall business objectives.Analyze market trends evaluate supplier capabilities and identifyopportunities for cost savings service improvements and riskmitigation.
- SupplierRelationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationshipswith transportation service providers carriers and thirdpartylogistics (3PL) partners. Negotiate contracts manage vendorperformance and conduct regular business reviews to ensure optimalservice levels cost competitiveness and compliance with contractualagreements.
- Sourcing andVendor Selection: Lead endtoend sourcing activities includingconducting RFIs/RFPs evaluating proposals and selecting suitabletransportation suppliers. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams todefine requirements evaluate supplier capabilities and negotiatepricing and service terms to achieve the best value for theorganization.
- ContractManagement: Develop and manage contracts and agreements withtransportation suppliers ensuring favorable terms clear performanceexpectations and adherence to regulatory and compliancerequirements. - Risk Management: Identifyand mitigate risks associated with transportation operations suchas capacity constraints service disruptions and regulatorycompliance. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcingstrategies to minimize supply chain disruptions and ensurecontinuity of operations.
- Performance Monitoringand Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metricsto track transportation service levels cost savings supplierperformance and compliance. Generate regular reports and dashboardsto provide visibility to stakeholders and drive databaseddecisionmaking.
- Continuous Improvement:Stay abreast of industry trends new technologies and best practicesin transportation logistics. Lead process improvement initiativesleverage data analytics and implement innovative solutions tooptimize transportation operations and enhance overall supply chainefficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply ChainManagement Business Administration Logistics or a related field.Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CSCP CPSM) are aplus with 5 6 years of experience.
- Provenexperience in procurement sourcing and supplier management withinthe transportation category preferably in a complex and globalenvironment.
- Indepth knowledge oftransportation logistics including modes of transportation (roadair ocean rail) customs regulations and freight forwardingprocesses.
- Strong negotiation skills with atrack record of achieving cost savings and favorable contractualterms in transportation procurement.
- Experience managing relationships withtransportation service providers carriers and 3PL partners.
- Familiarity with transportation managementsystems (TMS) freight payment systems and other relevant technologysolutions.
- Strong analytical andproblemsolving abilities with proficiency in data analysis andinterpretation.
- Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelywith crossfunctional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
