We are currently seeking a Lead Data Steward – Sr Associate/AVP to join our Data Management t eam in Mumbai, India.

OVERVIEW:

Data Management team is responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of master and reference data about indexes, companies, funds, financial instruments, corporate ownership, financial statements and ratios, and market price and performance. It develops approaches, logic, methodology and business requirements for acquiring, validating, normalizing, transforming, modeling, integrating, cross-referencing and distributing data. This data is then used in our client-facing data platforms, analytics tools and research offerings. The team also develops database testing strategy, scenarios and automated test frameworks. It performs database testing, defines data quality rules, monitors and resolves data quality issues and maintains metadata, user guides and relevant techno-functional documents.

ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

Develop and maintain high value, high quality business glossary, data dictionary and other metadata as well as lineage Develop and implement metadata strategy, standards, best practises and process Demonstrate value of metadata management to senior leaders, and collaborate with business, product and tech leads to drive implementation of metadata strategy Drive integration of metadata of newly created or modified data assets in central repository in a timelly manner Manage lifecycle of business terms and definitions, and enhance organizational knowledge of data Raise terminology and usage issues and help resolve differences, if any, across the organization Monitor and report quality, usage, consistency and level of alignment to adopted standards in enterprise metadata repository, and drive improvement in collaboration with business partners Identify under-utilized valuable data assets and foster partnerships to unlock that value while balancing data democratization against possible risks Effectively multi-task, schedule and prioritize deliverables to meet project timelines Promote an environment that fosters commitment to rigor, operational excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

Mandatory:

Bachelors or higher in Information Science/Engineering/Economics/Business/Financial Accounting 6 to 7 years of experience in data/metadata management, data quality, governance or lifecycle management Experience of developing metadata strategy and implementing sound processes, best practises, standards (e.g. ISO and frameworks (e.g. DAMA DMBoK) Good understanding of a few widely used standard taxonomies and experience of developing or adapting taxonomies Familiarity with technologies such as relational and graph databases Ability to perform data wrangling, exploratory anslysis and visual analytics using tools such as R/Python and/or advanced Excel

Good to have:

Subject Matter Expertise in one or two capital markets related data domains Experience of using semantic tools such as knowledge graphs, RDF and linked data Certifications from DAMA or EDM Council
