General Ledger Manager

We are looking for a GL (General Ledger) Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accounting Manager responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. We are also looking for someone to work closely with our management teams and collaborate with remote teams, geographically spread teams.

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and treasury, and expenditure variance analysis, reconciliations, etc.
  • Review the MIS, and Accruals in order to provide valuable information that will assist in monthly books closures.
  • Establish and develop metric-based reporting, including creating report dashboards for internal and external reporting.
  • Ensures information handled within the scope of responsibility is kept confidential, ensuring data and information integrity to protect the company's interests.
  • Train, and coach team members on policies, standards, controls, and procedures to deliver the expected level of service.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives, set team targets
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager, minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CA or ICWA qualified
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • well versed with ERP systems and able to adopt new technology
  • MIS preparation
  • Willing to travel internationally on occasion
